You.com Agentic AI Hackathon: SF Edition

1. How to Enter

The You.com Agentic AI Hackathon: Bay Area Edition (the "Hackathon") is an in-person event held at the AWS Builder Loft, San Francisco, California, on Friday, July 24, 2026 (the "Event Date").

Participation is by application and selection. To be considered, individuals must complete the official application available on the Hackathon website between [application open date] and 11:59 PM Pacific Time on July 14, 2026 (Pacific Time). You.com will review applications and notify selected participants by email. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

Selected participants must attend in person on the Event Date and submit their project through the official submission platform (Devpost) by 6:00 PM Pacific Time on July 24, 2026 (the "Submission Deadline"). You.com is not responsible for late, incomplete, misidentified, or misdirected applications or submissions.

2. Eligibility

Participation is open to individuals or teams of individuals who are 18 years of age or older and legal residents of countries where You.com is legally authorized to do business and offer this promotion (“Participants”). Participants must be selected through the application process and must attend the Hackathon in person on the Event Date wholly at their own expense. No substitutions are permitted.

Employees and contractors of You.com, its affiliates, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate as competitors. Employees and contractors of AWS and of confirmed event sponsors are likewise not eligible to compete.

The Hackathon is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and any associated costs.

3. Contest Qualification

All submissions must meet the entry criteria outlined in the Hackathon guidelines and be deemed valid by You.com. Submissions must:

  • Use at least one (1) You.com API endpoint (verifiable via usage logs).
  • Include a public GitHub repository with a README file and setup instructions.
  • Include a live in-person demo on the Event Date, plus a backup demo video (1 to 3 minutes).
  • Include a project description of approximately 200 words (problem solved, track, tech stack, and API usage).
  • Be created during the Hackathon. Work substantially completed before the Event Date is not eligible. Use of open-source libraries, public frameworks, and pre-existing boilerplate is permitted, provided the core project is built during the event.
  • Adhere to the Hackathon theme, tracks, and rules.

Each Participant may submit one entry. You.com reserves the right to reject entries that do not comply with the contest guidelines or violate the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

4. Tracks

Participants select one primary track. Submissions may also be considered for cross-cutting prizes regardless of track. The tracks are as follows:

  • Real-Time Intelligence
  • Deep Knowledge
  • Agent Systems
  • Wildcard / Open

5. Prizes

The Hackathon offers a total prize pool valued at approximately $5,300, consisting of Amazon gift vouchers, You.com API credits, and Founders Bay VIP memberships, distributed across the top three (3) winning Participants:

  • 1st Place: $1,000 Amazon voucher + $1,000 You.com API credits + 1-year Founders Bay VIP membership (approx. $1,000 value)
  • 2nd Place: $500 Amazon voucher + $500 You.com API credits + 6-month Founders Bay VIP membership (approx. $500 value)
  • 3rd Place: $250 Amazon voucher + $250 You.com API credits + 3-month Founders Bay VIP membership (approx. $300 value)

In addition to the prizes above, winning and finalist teams may receive non-monetary awards, including a working session with the You.com leadership and engineering team and a feature across You.com blog and social channels.

Prizes are awarded per submission, not per Participant. For Participant team submissions, the prize will be shared or allocated among registered team members as the team directs, or equally if no direction is given. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law. You.com reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value at its sole discretion.

To receive any monetary or cash-equivalent prize, a participant may be required to provide tax identification information and return any forms requested by You.com.

6. Judging Process and Criteria

Judging consists of a single round on the Event Date. All Participants submit their projects through the official submission form by the Submission Deadline. The judging panel reviews all eligible submissions and selects the top five (5) teams as finalists. The five (5) finalist teams each present a live demo to the judges, after which the judges select the first, second, and third place winners.

All eligible submissions will be reviewed and scored by a panel of judges based on the following criteria:

  1. Innovation & Originality (25%): creativity and uniqueness of the solution.
  2. Technical Implementation (25%): quality of code, API integration, architecture, and scalability.
  3. Impact & Relevance (20%): practicality and potential to solve real-world problems.
  4. User Experience (15%): intuitive design and ease of use.
  5. Presentation & Documentation (15%): clarity of the demo and organization of the GitHub repository.

Each judge will assign a score from 1 to 10 for each criterion. Scores will be aggregated, and the three (3) entries with the highest total scores will be declared the first, second, and third place winners. In the event of a tie, the entry with the highest Innovation & Originality score will rank higher. If the tie persists, the entry with the highest Impact & Relevance score will rank higher.

A panel of not less than three (3) judges will be retained by You.com, which may include industry professionals, AWS representatives, and You.com executives. Judging decisions are final and binding in all respects.

7. Prize Notification and Publicity

Winners will be announced in person at the Hackathon on the Event Date and confirmed by email within five (7) business days of the event's conclusion. Winners must claim their prizes within fifteen (15) days of notification. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the prize.

By accepting a prize, winners grant You.com the right to use their name, image, voice, likeness, biography, and project details (including video and screenshots) for promotional and publicity purposes, worldwide and in any media format, without additional compensation or permission, unless prohibited by law. A release will be provided to all Participant winners and must be executed in order to receive any prize.
