Add You.com to Grok Build

The You.com plugin for Grok Build, the Grok terminal coding agent, installs four skills and the You.com MCP servers from the agent-skills repo. The MCP servers give Grok tools such as you-search, you-contents, you-research, and you-finance. The skills tell it when to use each one and how to cite what it finds.

Install the Plugin

Add the Marketplace and Install

grok plugin marketplace add youdotcom-oss/agent-skills
grok plugin install you --trust

Grok only loads a plugin’s skills and MCP servers once you trust it. Without --trust, the install command shows what the plugin contains and stops. To load the plugin into an open session, press r in the Plugins tab, or start a new session.

Skills. Plugin skills appear in the slash menu. When a name is ambiguous, Grok shows it prefixed with the plugin name, such as /you:you-web.

`you-research`	Choosing between agent-led searching and a single cited `you-research` call
`you-finance`	Finance questions through the `you-finance` tool

Use the MCP Server Without the Plugin

To add only the tools, without the skills, add the You.com MCP server with grok mcp add.

Troubleshooting

MCP servers show as blocked

The plugin isn’t trusted. Reinstall it with grok plugin install you --trust.

Skills don't appear after install

Press r in the Plugins tab to reload plugins, or start a new session.

Plugin not found in marketplace

Refresh the marketplace with grok plugin marketplace update, then retry grok plugin install you --trust.
